Anodizing Fee

Anodizing is an electrolytic passivation process used to increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of titanium and niobium jewelry. This changes the crystalline structure of the metal causing it to reflect light differently thus creating a myriad of colors.
It is NOT a dye or plating, which makes it the safest option for colored jewelry.

Safety First

We believe that the only way you should get a piercing is in a clean, safe and comfortable environment. For us, this means all the tools and supplies we use during your piercing (including your jewelry) are disposable, or are sterilized in our Statim autoclave immediately before your procedure. This greatly reduces the chance of cross-contamination. Our piercer is experienced in and follows best practices set by the APP (Association of Professional Piercers), and is well versed in how to assess proper anatomy, proper sizing of jewelry, metal and material qualities, and best healing practices.

We submit spore tests to HealthFirst Biological Testing Lab monthly to ensure our autoclaves are running properly.

Our Jewelry

We believe in our clients having only the best jewelry available! We carry only jewelry that meets APP standards including implant grade titanium, niobium, and gold threadless or internally threaded jewelry, with plenty of options for gems and opals. We also have the ability to anodize our titanium and niobium jewelry to many different colors.

For healed piercings, we also carry many options, such as plated gold or silver ends, plugs, weights and hangers for stretched lobes made from different kinds of organic materials such as horn, bone and wood.

All of our jewelry is made by companies that stand by their jewelry, can provide proof of the quality of the metals and materials they use, and most offer lifetime guarantees.

Post-Poke

Piercings need to be babied and don’t heal overnight. Depending on what body part is pierced and what size the piercing is, it can take anywhere from 6 weeks to a year for a piercing to fully heal. Consider it an open wound, prone to getting very irritated, and treat it accordingly.

We follow a very simple aftercare philosophy:

  1. Clean it twice a day ONLY with sterile saline wound wash (in a pressurized can) to rinse off dirt, debris and dried secretions.

  2. Dry excess saline around the general area (without directly touching the piercing) with gauze or a clean paper towel, then LEAVE IT ALONE.

Do not touch, twist, sleep on or bump your piercing. We highly recommend sleeping on a travel/doughnut pillow if you tend to sleep on the side of your piercing.
