TATTOO POLICIES & INFO

Tattoo Rescheduling & No-Shows

  • If you can’t make your appointment, please contact your artist within 24 hours so they can reschedule you.

  • Cancellation within 24 hours or no-call / no-showing without rescheduling the appointment within 30 days may result in loss of deposit.

  • Rescheduling by you OR the artist within 24 hours due to illness / emergency situations does NOT affect your deposit.

Deposit & Design

  • A deposit must be made before any design work is started and required to make an appointment.

  • Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable from person to person, merchandise, or other services. Your deposit will be applied to the final cost of your tattoo. If your project involves multiple sessions, you may use it at any time, but we recommend waiting until the last session to avoid having to leave another deposit for your next appointment.

  • Your deposit secures a spot on your artist’s schedule. Appointments are subject to change due to illness, unforeseen circumstances, or design changes requiring more time.

  • Your deposit also covers the artist’s time spent creating the agreed upon design, including changes that affect 50% or less of the design, up to 48 hours before your appointment. Any complete redesigns, or repeated or last minute changes beyond this allowance may result in rescheduling and/or a drawing fee of $75-$150 to be paid before the changes are done. Drawing fees are not deducted from the final cost of the tattoo.

Best Practices, Tips, & Tricks

The following tips will maximize the potential for your tattoo to heal properly, and will help you have the best experience possible.

  • We can’t tattoo over a sunburn! Avoid unprotected sun exposure for at least 14 days before your appointment. Please let your artist know as soon as possible if you do unintentionally get sunburned on the area to be tattooed (even a little bit), so they can determine if rescheduling is necessary.

  • Do NOT plan your tattoo within at least 3 weeks of a vacation or outing that may include swimming or prolonged sun exposure. Fresh tattoos can’t be protected with sunscreen, and are highly likely to become infected or scab heavily if exposed to any water other than fresh, clean tap water in the shower.

  • Plan to take it easy and avoid strenuous activities that will cause excessive sweating for at least a week after. If you won’t be able to avoid sweating while healing your tattoo, please let your artist know so they can advise you on the best aftercare process for your situation.

  • Please avoid using any lotions and moisturizers on the area to be tattooed for 72 hours prior to your session, and shower the night before or morning of, making sure to exfoliate the area to be tattooed.

  • Our aftercare process *may* include having you return within 24-48 hours to have your derm shield adhesive bandage changed if the amount and type of work done on the tattoo requires it. Take this into consideration when scheduling with your artist.

  • Do not consume alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Avoid taking any medication that thins your blood, such as aspirin or other NSAIDs. If you take medication that has any blood thinning qualities or that cause skin sensitivities (i.e. Acutane), consult with your doctor before getting tattooed.

  • Get plenty of rest, hydrate well, and eat a good meal the morning of. After your tattoo, you may feel tired and run down. Your immune system will begin working extra hard to help protect and heal your skin, so have a plan to take good care of yourself!

  • Bring whatever you think will help you be most comfortable, and choose your clothing wisely to ensure easy access to the area. Clothing in the area of the tattoo may end up with residual ink on it, which will permanently stain.

  • If you are getting a tattoo on your back, consider bringing a zip-up hoodie or button down shirt so you can wear it backwards. Laying on plastic can get sweaty, sticky, and uncomfortable!

Minors

  • Minors under the age of 13 are not allowed as guests during your tattoo, sorry!

  • We are allowed to tattoo minors 16 and up, with one parent / legal guardian present.

  • We are required to see and take a copy of the minor’s physical, paper birth certificate, as well as photo ID for the minor (school ID or passport is acceptable if they don’t have a state ID yet) and the parent. If the adult present with them is not listed on their birth certificate, we are required to see and record another form of official, legal documentation that designates them as a legal guardian.
